The Wood:
A moderately hard, straight grained, even-textured wood with great strength properties. Works well with hand and machine tools. Density 670kg/m3.
The Tree:
Similar to Pink Beech. Good stem formation, tall and straight. Slow growth, can take up to 60 years to reach maximum height.
Colour:
Pale yellow to light tan with distinctive and characteristic dark specs.
Typical uses:
Furniture, chairs, carving, toys, plywood
