Wild Cherry

The Wood:

A rich, hard timber with a very high density. Has a bold grain and an occasional small pink knot. The colour of the floor varies from a warm auburn to mid-brown and darkens with age. Density 600kg/m3.

The Tree:

 Usually less than 10 feet (30.5m) with a trunk of 24-48 inches (610-1200mm), but occasionally larger. May have swollen bases or buttresses and boles clear to 80 feet (24m).

Colour:

 Russet to reddish brown, often with dark stripes or streaks.

Typical uses:

 Flooring, kitchens, and furniture.
